Application Details
Continuing students may apply each spring for entry in the fall prior to completing 60 credit hours at Texas A&M. This application requires students to have a 3.5 cumulative TAMU GPR and have developed a plan for completing distinction requirements. Continuing Student applicants are strongly encouraged to meet with an Honors Advisor to help develop this plan prior to application.
Review of applications begins after the deadline. All initial notifications will be sent by March 31, 2023.
Applications are evaluated on the basis of the student’s record of academic achievement and demonstrated potential for creativity, intellectual ability, imagination, curiosity, willingness to try new things and self-awareness as demonstrated in the application essay. Once admitted to the Honors Fellows curriculum, students are designated as “Honors Students” and may then access specific privileges and resources, including additional advising, priority registration, contracting non-honors courses for Honors credit, Honors Independent Study, and enrolling in graduate-level courses for undergraduate Honors credit. Honors Students also receive priority advising for competitive national fellowships.
See http://tx.ag/HonorsAppeal to submit a late application if you missed the deadline. Students appealing for late consideration should ensure that their Undergraduate Degree Planner shows their plan for completing Honors Fellows distinction requirements and submit their application essay in the appeal form. Students accepted from a late application may not be assigned an Honors Priority Registration start time for Fall preregistration.
