As founder of The Hunger Consortium, the LAUNCH office leads by example through the new First Year Eats program. We partnered up with H-E-B and Integ, to bring a unique set of hands-on activities and resources to students in our Learning Communities.
First Year Eats has two primary goals:
Learn More
LAUNCH: Capstones provides a year-long integrative experience that allows students to combine their career goals, majors, and interests in faculty-mentored independent projects that focus on leadership, research, community service, teaching, or performance. All students at Texas A&M can apply to complete a capstone.
A brand new concept organization on the campus of TAMU. Our purpose is to shine the light on the concept of "Compassionate Eats".
TUFU will address the following campus sustainability components:
Everybody Eats is a collaborative ethnography focusing on community food security. Texas A&M faculty, students, and members of the local community focus on examining the food system and food movement(s) in the Brazos Valley while developing a network of residential food growers.
The 12th Can is a student-run food pantry at Texas A&M that serves all students, faculty, and staff in need of assistance. The 12th Can is affiliated with Brazos Valley Food Bank as a program partner, and we reside under the Student Government Association. Their goal is to eliminate hunger at Texas A&M, bring awareness to food insecurity in college communities, and show others the power of the Aggie spirit.
