What LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research Does in the Summer

LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research is a gateway for information related to summer undergraduate research experiences. LAUNCH: UGR provides information to help coordinate programs, but does not run any specific REU or other summer undergraduate research experiences (SURE).

The difference between REU and other summer undergraduate research experiences (SURE):

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). REU programs have a specific set of guidelines determined by the NSF and PI’s specific grants. There are many other summer undergraduate research experiences (SURE) at Texas A&M run by individual departments. However, these are not called REUs. Other SURE grants also have individual guidelines. For more information about NSF REU programs, visit NSF.gov.
