WHAT: Through the Undergraduate Performance Scholars Capstone, students will explore the impact of art on their academic career and create a project that unites their specific discipline and educational experience.
WHY: The Undergraduate Performance Scholars Capstone is designed to allow students to demonstrate a deeper understanding of their specific discipline through artistic expression and learn a greater appreciation for how the arts can communicate value and meaning.
HOW: The Undergraduate Performance Scholars Capstone is a two-semester experience that requires students to translate an important concept from their discipline into a publicly accessible work of art or performance. Students should identify the concept and then develop or deepen their artistic ability, and then plan and present their work. Registration in UGST 497 in the section designated to Performance is required in both semesters of the capstone experience.
WHEN: This capstone can be run Fall/Spring or Spring/Fall. For more information regarding application deadlines, please contact dkemp@tamu.edu.
