The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation identifies colleges and universities that will receive Beckman Scholars application invitations. The extremely thorough selection process is a two-part review led by a panel of scientific expert with institutions chosen based on their dedication to undergraduate research in chemistry, biology and/or combinations thereof and their ability to compete in national level programs.
The TAMU Beckman Scholars Program (2014-2023) chose 18 extraordinary second semester freshmen majoring in specific STEM fields with a driving curiosity, commitment to research, and potential for leadership for a three-and-a half year intensive research and leadership program jointly funded by the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation and Texas A&M University.
Our Beckman Scholars worked under the mentorship of carefully selected Beckman faculty mentors to do ground-breaking research. Many of our Beckman Scholars were awarded prestigious National Fellowships such as the Goldwater and Astronaut Scholarships, Fulbright Scholarship, and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. They have gone on to graduate and professional schools and taken positions in industry.
We look forward to seeing what our Beckman Scholars accomplish as they progress in their educational goals and career paths.
